The Port Commissioners and Staff believe
it is important to be actively involved in making our
county and communities a great place to live and raise
families. The Port participates in activities that are
for the betterment of the county through activities
and associations such as:
Newport Business Park - In conjunction
with EDC, the City of Newport and the PUD, the Port
District is currently seeking funding to assist with
the development of a small industrial park in Newport
on approximately 3 acres of land owned by the Port.
Rotary Club Kiosk - The Newport-Priest
River Rotary Club has installed a kiosk at the boat
launch at Oldtown, Idaho. This kiosk depicts local history
and provides information to tourists about sites to
visit and events to see. The Port District has space
on this kiosk that tells about the Port's inception
and the railroad history associated with its development.
Drug Dog - The Port assisted with the
purchase of the Pend Oreille County Sheriff's Office
drug dog.
